I, along with many people from my generation, was raised to fear the End Times… my dad would read us selected excerpts from the Book of Revelations… as a kid, I never thought I would reach the age of 18 because the Russians were going to attack and enslave us all… it was the era of Red Dawn…
As I grew older I began to get caught up in conspiracy theories and developed a great distaste and distrust for our government… I was opinionated and obstinate against any kind of control…
It’s interesting to me how fear motivates… it takes the a person… convinces them to give up their authority… and then it controls…
In fearing the loss of my perceived control, I was inadvertently giving it away to the enemy… I thought I saw the end of the world within my lifetime… and as I gripped my life tighter… I progressively lost it…
Jesus said that these things would happen… that the end times would come… but I was focusing on the wrong thing. What I was focusing on… I was becoming... and in the name of justice and truth… I convinced a lot of people to be fearful with me…
Here’s the thing… fear is a liar… the word says that many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the lord delivers them from them all… and that gave me hope… it also says that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind… well… what spirit has he given us then?…
He’s give us His Holy Spirit… as a guide to redirect us away from calamity… to give us favor in the eyes of our adversaries… to equip us to overcome the things the we face on a day to day basis…
I believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, I speak in tongues hourly… sometime out loud and sometime under my breath… I’ve seen and participated in miracles… healings… demonic deliverances and I know without a shadow of a doubt that if/ when the era comes to a close and should I find myself in the midst of calamity… my God has already made a way out of it for me, because he loves me as a good dad does… and He’s given me his Holy Spirit as a GPS to redirect me when there’s trouble up ahead.
